training-300x225On2Wheels offer friendly safe CBT training 7 days a week at our Wrexham center.

Compulsory Basic Training is legally required for learner riders. The course is designed to ensure that everyone who wants to learn to ride on road receives the correct training and gains the relevant skills needed to ride on road. At On 2 Wheels, our professional and friendly instructors will ensure you receive your training in a relaxed environment.

CBT is designed to be completed in a day and it is split into five basic elements;

Element A: Introduction, including eyesight check and clothing chat.

Element B: Machine control and basic maintenance.

Element C: Practical off road training and exercises.

Element D: Pre-ride briefing.

Element E: Practical on road training and riding. A minimum of 2 hours on road is required by law.

When you have reached the required standard for CBT, you will be issued with a DL196 CBT certificate, which is valid for 2 years. This will enable you to ride on road as a learner and continue your training with us to gain your full licence. You may be asked to return for further training until your instructor is satisfied you are safe enough to ride on road.

You will need a full or provisional Driver’s Licence for the training. You can apply for this online at http://www.gov.uk/ or with a form from the Post Office. We have helmets, jackets and gloves available for the training if you do not have your own. CBT starts at 9am and finishes around 5pm. You may wish to bring your lunch as you will be with us most of the day.
